Free Sample: Nursery Water Reusable Bag

I know some of us [[Lisa and I included]] can’t really play on the Internet at work. But if you still have access, you will want to be ready to visit Nursery Water here at 12 pm EST. Nursery Water is giving away free nursery bags. They are like the reuseable shopping bags but even better. They have a storage pouch and fold into a small pouch!

Of course, the offer will probably goes fast. Usually within an hour according to the Nursery Water website. But I really like that there is a counter to let you know if there are still bags available. If at first you don’t succeed, visit again until you do!

A&P: Bag It Yourself

I love reusable bags. I have a ton of them. So many, in fact, that I’ve begun to wonder if I’m not hurting the Earth by having a bunch. I mean, I’m not taking plastic, so that’s good, but I’m still getting new bags kinda often.

But that’s because everyone is just giving them away.

Like A&P. If you head over to Zavers [[that’s A&P’s online coupon site, similar to Cellfire, if you’re unfamiliar]]. Load your coupons, and you’ll see there’s one for a free Elizabeth Haub Foundation bag, in celebration of Earth Day.

The ones to choose from at my store were all based off paintings and had quotes on them. I picked the one with a quote from Virgil that reads: “Your descendants shall gather your fruits.” It’s very, very true. Although my descendants are zero. Right now at least.

Target: Start Earth Week Off Right

Target is giving away 1.5 million reuseable bags with a purchase today [[April 18]]. Visit your local Target store early as quantities are limited and there are no rainchecks.

In case you are not able to get to your store, there is a special envelope in the Target ad in today’s paper. If you sent that envelope in with 5 plastic bags to be recycled, you will get a coupon for $1 off a reuseable tote of $1.49 or more. Don’t forget, Target gives you a nickle off your purchase when you use a reuseable tote

Babies R Us: Earth Day Comes Early

I got an email from the lovely Aimee at The Mommy Trade letting me know that Babies R Us is having a great sale going on between now and April 22.

If you bring this coupon to Babies R Us, you’ll get a free reusable tote. Then, you’ll get an additional 25-percent off any clothing [[sizes newborn to 48 months]] you can stuff in that bag. It seems to also include sale and clearance items.

My niece’s first birthday is next month, and since I totally balked on getting her a My Little Pony, I should probably get her some [[cheap]] clothes at the very least.

Tote It Around

Everyone is getting into the reusable tote fad. And I like that a lot because I’ve been a huge fan of reusable totes for such a long time now.

Dots is the next store to get in on it all.

While supplies last, if you spend $25 at Dots, you’ll get the reusable tote in the picture for free. It’s black and sleek, which is pretty nice.

Green Bag Tag

I’m surprised Lisa didn’t get to this post before I did. She is so good about saving the Earth and always uses her reusable bags. CVS wants to save the Earth too. The stores are selling a Green Bag Tag for 99 cents. You attach the tag right to your reusable shopping bag.

Take your reusable bag to CVS. Every time you check out using it [[limit once per day]], have them scan your Green Bag Tag. After four scans, you earn a $1 in ECB. The tags should be in stores now. Saving the Earth and saving you money at the same time. Good job CVS!

Reusable Gift Wrap

I’ve always had a habit of opening my presents very carefully, sure not to rip the paper. It might need to be reused. On Christmas, my paper would be refolded in a neat pile, and it killed me to throw it in the garbage with everyone else’s crumbled paper. Hello! Recycle!

So, I’m kinda thinking of wrapping everyone’s gifts in reusable bags this year.

And Calypso Studios seems to have read my mind. The company makes these adorable reusable totes in holiday prints now. And they’re on sale until October 31 with the code HSHOP1031. The bags are usually $7.95, but with the code, you can get them two for $10. That might be a bit more than you’d spend on wrapping paper [[especially if you got it half off the day after Christmas]], but you can be Scrooge and take the bags back and use them year after year if you really want to save money [[read: be stingy]].

Let’s Go Mets

I love love love Daniel Murphy [[he’s the first baseman for the Mets, if you didn’t know]]. Last time I saw him play, he hit a home run and had four RBI in a 4-1 [[maybe it was 4-2]] win. He’s that good.

I always like the Mets [[boo, hiss, to the haters]], but I had a resurgence in caring since Daniel Murphy go on the roster

So, when I needed a filler item at Walgreens, and I saw a Mets reusable tote clearanced to 50 cents, the decision was easy. It’s the end of the season, so check to see if your team is on clearance [[although the way the Mets played this season, I’m shocked these weren’t on clearance months ago]].

Wags Bags

We’re big supporters of saving the Earth here at Drugstore Divas. That’s why we’re thrilled to be great friends with companies like Envirosax and Calypso Studios. In case you haven’t won one of our tote bag giveaways, head over to Walgreens to buy some reusable bags.

Wags tote bags, which are unironically green, are on sale for 3 for 99 cents this week [[ending 07/04]] with the in ad coupon. They’re not as as some of the other bags I’ve used [[these tend to have weaker stitching]], but they’re not non-biodegradable plastic so that’s part of the success right there.

Save the Earth Here

Did you know that each year, Americans throw away 100 billion polyethylene plastic bags? I had no idea it was that many bags a year but that is what Pacific Rim Winemakers are telling us. They are also so concerned about the rivers and waterways in the Columbia Valley, they want to make Americans more aware so they are giving away a free reusable bag. And you know how much the Divas love their reusable bags.

Head over to this website, fill out a simple form, wait for the confirmation email and while supplies last you’ll get your bag! Since we can only have one Envirosax winner, this will help everyone else get in on saving the Earth.
